Why does the program last 2.5 years and not 3 months?

Some programming courses claim to train a beginner into a qualified programmer in just 3-4 months. This is either a lie or an incompetent statement. It would be possible to learn fundamentals in one or two IT subjects, but it is impossible to get serious practical skills in such a short period of time. After such short courses a programmer will be able to perform simple and low-paying tasks. Many programmers after short courses regret that they did not receive any fundamental education at the beginning of their careers. Software Development program includes only the subjects necessary for a programmer. It takes 5 years to get a university diploma. Our program takes 2,5 years, or 5 terms. We are confident this is the optimal time for a quality IT education.

What is the difference between a part-time and a full-time program?

Part-time studies take place once a week with 3 sessions a day (Saturday or Sunday). Part-time program allows you to combine your studies with university or work. Every week you have consulations with trainers, as well lessons for self-studies, that includes theory, examples of problem solving, instructions, homeworka, interactive videos and other materials. Full-time program is suitable for those who wish to gain knowledge and experience, immersing themselves as much as possible in a new field surrounded by like-minded people. Lessons with experienced trainers take place on weekdays for 3 hours 3 times a week.

Who can study, are there any age or knowledge restrictions?

Anyone 15 y.o. and older can register for our full-time program and 18 y.o. and older can register for both full and part time programs, regardless of their previous education. You do not have to take any exams on admission.

What document/certificate will I receive after completing the course?

STEP IT Academy diploma is available in 2 languages: English and French. In addition, you will also receive certificates from Microsoft, Cisco, or Autodesk, depending on the courses you chose

If I don't have a computer at home, can I study at the Academy?

Yes. At any time. Academy branches are open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and 7 days a week.

What documents do I need to enroll?

To complete you registration, you will need to present an ID showing that you are over 18 y.o., 1 photo 3*4, and a payment depending on the program and the payment schedule you choose.

Is it possible to study online?

If you are interested in online learning, STEP IT Academy has launched a Cloud Branch where you can study online
